Rev. Antonio "Tony" Castro
Pastor

Fr. Antonio Castro ("Fr. Tony") was born in the Philippines and was ordained a priest on May 22, 1984.  He emigrated to the United States in 1994 and became a naturalized citizen.  He obtained Bachelor’s degrees in both Philosophy and Theology in the Philippines, and earned his Master’s and Licentiate in Theology at the Pontifical University of Santo Tomas (Angelicum) in Rome, Italy.

The first six years of his priesthood were spent in his native land; the next four years in Italy.  During his further studies in Rome he kept going back and forth to the United States, particularly on summer vacations. He eventually made the decision to stay in America.  For the last 12 years he has spent practically all his priestly life and ministry in the archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

His previous assignments in this archdiocese were:

As Parochial Vicar (Assistant Pastor) at Epiphany of the Lord in Katy, at St. Hyacinth, ca. 1996-1999, in Deer Park, at Notre Dame parish in southwest Houston, and at St. John Neumann parish in northwest Houston.

As Pastor at Christ Our Light parish in Navasota.

Fr. Tony is an avid recreational golfer.  On his day off you are almost sure to find him on a golf course around the Houston area.

Fr. Sebastian Rama, “Fr. Seby,” was born in India. He is a member of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales Religious Order. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor's degree in Theology in India and was ordained a priest on May 7, 1990. He came to the United States in 2007 to assist a parish in the Diocese of Tyler, Texas.

Most of his previous assignments were in India. He was a pastor, school manager and part-time teacher for 14 years. He also spent two years teaching in the Seminary and one year assisting the Novice Master as a teacher and spiritual director in the Novitiate. He had one three-year term as a counselor in the provincial administration. Fr. Seby speaks five Indian languages and English.

Fr. Seby was born and raised in the South part of India from the State of Karnataka, Banglalore. His parents, four brothers and one sister are still living in India. He plays cricket, basketball and indoor games such as ping-pong (table tennis). He loves to walk an hour a day to keep fit.

Deacon Orrin Halepeska spent most of his childhood on a cattle ranch in South Texas near Goliad. He is the oldest of three children. His dad is an engineer and his mom works on the ranch to keep things going there.

He graduated from high school in 2000 and earned a degree in Health Education from the University of Houston. He was planning on going to pharmacy school, but God kept calling his name to enter the seminary. He has been in the seminary for over six years and is now in his final year of theology at St. Mary’s Seminary. This summer he continued working on a Masters in Spirituality and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats. Deacon Orrin will finish both of his Masters and will be ordained to the priesthood sometime in the summer of 2012. He has said he feels blessed and excited to be able to serve this community.
